The information on this site is for the benefit of Netobjects Fusion users that might be considering a dynamic site using PHP and MySQL. It generically refers to the current popular hosting environment running Linux / Apache / MySQL. All information is provided in the hope that it may be useful, but comes without warranty or guarantee of any kind, either expressed or implied.

The online manuals at php.net and mysql.com will always remain a definitive resource. However, they are not easily digested if you don't have a programming background. Hence, the substantial market that exists for many books on these topics ;-)

At the time of writing - PHP and MySQL Web Development by Welling and Thomson (2nd edition) is my personal preference. Over 800 pages of well produced and clearly indexed content also make the online manuals much easier to comprehend when you *do* need them.

See www.gotfusion.com for tutorials on dynamic sites with NOF. Also consider Coldfusion as an alternative -- a tutorial on this also being available at the above link for members of gotFusion.

As a side note, if you are a NOF user without a programming background and have a commercial need to produce a dynamic site inside say 3 months, then you might be better off financially by outsourcing a programmer to produce the code for you based on your needs and hosting environment. It can take a lot of time and persistence to become familiar with a scripting language.

TIP - It's also much easier to understand the code when you can *see* a Fusion site working with a database.
